Founder of Brixton Therapy Centre

Mardi qualified as both an osteopath and naturopath in 1994 and spent many years treating patients across the UK, from farmers in Lincolnshire to ex-professional rugby players in Cardiff. In 1999, she brought her skills to South London, opening her first clinic on Acre Lane under the name Brixton Back Pain Clinic. In 2002, she moved the clinic to its current home on Brixton Road and founded Brixton Therapy Centre—a space dedicated to high-quality, holistic health care for the local community.

Although Mardi stepped back from hands-on treatment during the pandemic, she remains deeply involved in the day-to-day running of the centre and is a committed mentor to her carefully selected team. The practitioners she works with are experienced, highly qualified, and offer a wide range of treatments—from expert care for musculoskeletal aches, pains and sports injuries, to women’s health services including fertility support, pregnancy and birth preparation, menopause care, and even treatment for newborns and young children.

Mardi is particularly proud of her team, many of whom have been with the clinic since its early days. Together, they offer a uniquely integrated and trusted health service to the communities of Brixton, Clapham, Herne Hill, and beyond.

She explains:
“My aim has always been to offer clients a fully integrated complementary health care service. While most people come in for back or neck pain, we know that health is complex. That’s why we work closely as a team—referring to acupuncture for inflammation or eczema, or to our massage therapists for stress relief—so each person gets the most appropriate care. I know and trust every therapist here, and I refer with complete confidence.”

One of the most rewarding parts of her career, she says, has been the opportunity to support entire families and friend networks—watching babies grow into teenagers, and being there for her community every step of the way.
