TUI NA (CHINESE) MASSAGE
Tui Na (pronounced twee-nah) is a dynamic and flexible form of massage that forms part of Traditional Chinese Medicine and is routinely practised in hospitals all over China, alongside acupuncture, herbs and qi gong.
Tuina massage can be deep, penetrating and vigorous, or relaxing and calming, or a combination - it depends upon the condition being treated and your own preferences.
It can be performed through light clothing or directly on the skin.
It can be given as a treatment in its own right to treat a wide range of conditions, or used in conjunction with acupuncture when treating headaches, shoulder, neck and back pain and other muscle and joint problems and for relaxation at the end of a treatment. A variety of massage techniques, gentle body manoeuvres and stretches are combined in an individually tailored treatment, relaxing or invigorating.
Tuina is suitable for children and adults, and is of particular benefit to anyone who does not like needles.
