Alex's interest in nutrition started in 2005 when he was diagnosed with IBS. Conventional medicine provided little hope so he turned to Nutritional Therapy for help. After a few weeks of following the recommended dietary plan he noticed a remarkable improvement in his symptoms and overall health. He was astonished that something so simple could have such a profound effect on how he felt.
Wanting to further his knowledge about how to use food therapeutically, he studied Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy at the prestigious College of Naturopathic Medicine in London.
He is a fully qualified Naturopathic Nutritional Therapist, a full member of the British Association of Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT), and he is also registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), the only register for Nutritional Therapy recognised by the Department of Health.
Despite having a 'healthy' diet, individuals can be deficient in one or more micronutrients which in turn can make the difference between feeling vibrant and healthy to just 'okay'. Illness, lifestyle factors such as alcohol intake, ingestion of pharmaceutical or recreational drugs, genetic predisposition etc., can significantly affect nutrient status. Deficiencies in any micronutrient can have a profound impairment on any body system.
"I am passionate about nutrition and the role it plays in almost every aspect of our health".
